Department of Foreign Languages

Department of Foreign Languages of KUTEL is an integral component of the structure of the university, an active participant in the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of tourism, hotel business and law. It exists for 16 years, and today is one of the largest in the university.

Chair for an experienced Head - Candidate of Philology, professor Sukharevskaya V. The department includes 21 teachers, 3 of them are candidates of philology, 6 assistant professors, 10 senior teachers. Together with experienced professionals work creatively with young, talented teachers who have good knowledge of modern communicative methods of teaching foreign languages and successfully implement the educational process of the latest technology.

The department provides the teaching of four languages: English, Spanish, German and French, which are taught at all faculties in all specialties.

English is essential, therefore, studying of it is allocated the largest number of classroom hours. Provided an independent work of students, which is an important factor in improving the practical skills of students in learning a foreign language. Spanish, German and French as a second study at the Faculty of tourism, hotel and restaurant business, the faculty of international economic relations and management.

The principle of monitoring the level of knowledge and skills of students is determined according to the requirements of the Bologna process is an effective means of intensifying and deepening the students' knowledge of foreign languages.

Applied in the educational process principle of individualization is a means of creative development of linguistic abilities of talented students.



At the department there are a number of interesting traditions. One of them - visit with the students of theatrical performances and exhibitions, followed by discussion of their experiences in foreign languages, to ensure the linguistic competitions, meetings with native speakers. Thematic round tables at the faculty of tourism, hotel and restaurant business are interesting not only in content but also in the form of their conduct.

At the disposal of teachers of the department have a multimedia laboratory which is equipped with modern computer programs. The Department maintains contact with its graduates, who successfully work in the best travel companies and hotels in Ukraine due to the high level of knowledge of foreign languages.

The department includes a number of teachers who were awarded by MES for a highly, creative work Honorary sign "Excellence in Education of Ukraine": Lisovets O., Sukharevskaya V., Svechnikova T., Yablonskaya E., Krivorchuk I., Kaytan N.

Head of the Department Sukharevskaya V. has experience working in educational institution in France, Belgium, where she, as a visiting lecturer, delivered lectures for university students on Ukrainian culture and literature, especially the education system in Ukraine (1988 - 1990, GG, University of Toulouse, 1993 - the University of Montpellier, 1998 - University of Amiens - France, 1994 - International Institute of Translation g.Mons - Belgium).

Sukharevskaya V. is the author of many scholarly articles on linguistics, as well as teaching aids with the stamp of the MES, the latter of which are tailored specifically for tertiary students of tourism and hotel-economic profile (Hotel and restaurant services in France, Kiev - 2004; Guide Business French language, Kiev - 2004; travel service in France, Kiev - 2005).

Candidate of philological sciences, professor Velichko S. and professor Svechnikova T. studied at the University of Leipzig (Germany).

A number of teachers employed translators abroad: Krivorchuk I. (1972 - 1973 yy) - Cuba; Litvinenko N. (1980 - 1982 years) - Algeria.
